Multi-instrumentalist Zach Fountain performs as Rushmore Beekeepers, looping guitar, keyboard, and electronic drums at shows to fill out the sound when his long-distance bandmate can’t make the trip from Arizona. A native New Mexican living in Tulsa, Zach sings about purpose, uncertainty, love, and hope with a backdrop that’s sometimes everyday, sometimes surreal or apocalyptic. He loves a project and a challenge: the band wrote, recorded, and released their most recent EP in 48 hours; Zach also wrote a song a week for a year, twice.
While Zach plays most shows solo, he and his bandmate Amanda Hawkins make most of the Rushmore Beekeepers music together. Like the albums they create, shows are meticulously sequenced to tell a story. Set list and lyrics are provided via QR code and link at each show.
Rushmore Beekeepers are playing at Tulsa Clubhouse Saturday, May 23 at 2PM.
