Sequoia River is an budding visionary and abstract artist. Her works span over 200 soft pastel pieces that she channels in a meditative and intuitive practice. Her style feels like swimming in the collective subconscious, a little chaotic, dark, and yet also colorful, full of hope and life. Each piece has a healing message or affirmation that is infused into the work while she creates it. She playfully names each piece by these affirmations with the intention that if the viewer says it aloud, they "unlock" the healing magic contained in the piece for themselves. Walking through her studio is like shuffling through a giant oracle deck. Because of this, the space will be set to be peaceful and introspective. Outside spaces will be available for provoking conversations and connection. A live performance piece will be given halfway through the show. During this time viewers will be able to experience and feel first hand the magic that is infused in River's work.
