Rules for Creatives & Hosts
Paid Entry Policy (No Double Charging)
All attendees have already paid a $15 Hidden Creatives entry fee for access to participating studios, homes, performances, and creative spaces.
Creatives, hosts, businesses, and creatives may not charge attendees an additional entry, cover, class, or participation fee on-site. This includes (but is not limited to) door fees, studio access fees, or required payments to view work or attend performances.
- Optional donations are permitted.
- Sales of artwork, merchandise, food, or tickets to future events are permitted.
- Mandatory or required fees for access are strictly prohibited.
Any host, business, or creative found charging attendees a second mandatory fee will be removed from the hidden creatives event and may be denied future participation.
This policy exists to protect attendees, ensure fairness across all locations, and maintain trust within the hidden creatives community.
Safety & Space Use
- Creatives and hosts are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for attendees (clear walkways, secured hazards, etc.).
- Hosts must clearly communicate which areas are public and which are private within their space.
- Creatives are not required to invite attendees inside their homes—outdoor, garage, or shared-space setups are fully valid.
- All participating locations must have permission from the property owner to host the event.
Artwork & Content Guidelines
- Artwork must not promote or glorify:
- Hate or violence toward any group or individual
- Sexual violence, abuse, or exploitation
- Explicit sexual content involving minors
- Sensitive or challenging themes (e.g., political, social, or personal topics) are allowed when presented thoughtfully and responsibly.
- hidden creatives may request content warnings or decline work that poses a risk to attendee safety or well-being. If you're unsure if your work follows these guidelines, err on the side of caution.
Respecting Emerging Creatives
- Hosts must treat all participating creatives as equals—no exploitative arrangements, unpaid labor, or pressure to discount work.
- Hosts must pass 100% of artwork sales belonging to their guest creatives directly the guest creatives during the event.
- Credit creatives clearly and accurately in signage, promotion, and conversation.
Sales, Performances & Experiences
- Selling physical artwork, merchandise, or tickets to future events is encouraged.
Professional Conduct
- Creatives and hosts must adhere to their listed open hours whenever possible.
- Creatives are responsible for their own work, displays, and transactions.
- Any disputes between creatives and hosts should be handled respectfully and privately.
