Tay Berghoff

Hours: May 23 and 24th, 12pm-6pm

My practice is a transmutation. Sometimes it’s audacious, wild and loud and sometimes it’s quiet and joyful or easy and sad. I find that my creation is the exploration of my life’s energy. It’s not inspired by it, but rather it is the alchemical process of living, and for that reason, I can never stop. My art often knows before I do and later on I will understand why. Sometimes I receive visions, sometimes it’s spontaneous, sometimes I practice the skillset so when the inspiration comes it has a clear place to flow. I create in many mediums and I will show these all in the space: from life-size paintings and pastel pieces, to hand cut metal sculptures and video art. I am also a musician and my digital media will be available to listen to and experience via a digital viewing station.

My video work is emotionally charged. It includes violent shaking, yelling and crying. It also includes dancing with little clothing. All video content can be engaged with on a case by case basis. Some of my video work includes boobs and vagina though it is minimal or obscured. I consider it family friendly.
